Pedigree Chart

Emory and Cora Belle were married on 02 Mar 1934 in Vinton, Iowa. They had no children.

Emory was a bachelor for many years, living with or near his parents most of that time. In 1914-1915 he was working as a day laborer in Urbana, Iowa. His total earnings for 1914 was $300.

On his 1917 WWI draft registration, Emory is farming for Bert Pitts near Urbana, still a single man, tall and of medium build with brown eyes and brown hair. Also, he indicates he is the 'only party responsible for his Father and Mother;' however the registrar added a note that he was 'only partly-support of Father and Mother.'

In 1925, Emory was living in Big Grove, Iowa. By 1930 he was living with the John D Martin family in Polk Twp, Iowa and working on their farm.

Cora Belle did not remarry after Emory's death. While I never got to meet her I did correspond with her about family information. She indicated that Emory was overseas as a serviceman in the infantry when his brother, Asa, died. Have not found any record of his service yet.
